Before I went to bed late last night I wrote myself a love letter. It was strange. I was chatting on Facetime and then as soon as I hung up my fingers just started typing. It was my heart writing to my head, everything it wanted to say about the beautiful, expansive, outrageous year that is half over and everything it wanted to say to prepare me for the remainder of the year. I could say a LOT about the lessons I’ve learned this year… Perhaps at another time. It’s so special and beyond my wildest imagination that it’s hard to articulate. That’s why I created this blog to serve as an archive/diary of my life. I also know a lot of it will come out in my book. And i most importantly know, that 99% of how i feel and what I’ve experienced, truly just can’t be expressed in words. I have the most ridiculous amount of appreciation, love and gratitude for every person, experience, opportunity and just every freaking second this year. The next 6 months and beyond is going to be even better… the one after? Better again. Here is the last line of my love letter to myself, and below are my QUICK (and i say that because i literally did it in 4 minutes on purpose) lessons of 2023.
”Haha, Could you? I dare you! What would happen if you did? Fall in love with every moment Jess. its all getting better…Allow ease, calm, peace, love, joy, glory, success, abundance, freedom, to all increase and expand effortlessly. Love yourself like you love the world and just watch what happens.”
I wanted to pen something quickly so I decided to write my top 25 lessons of 2023 as quickly as I could before my head could interfere. So here they are:
My top 25 lessons.
- You choose everything. Absolutely everything. Whether you ‘desire’ it or not you choose it.
- Be careful what you wish for. As soon as you think it and believe it, it’s done.
- Nobody can ever fill your cup. Love the shit out of yourself as a priority. Everything flows from self love and approval.
- Everything is always perfect. Always.
- Abundance isn’t a thing, it’s a mindset, an energy, a knowing and a way of life
- Gratitude really is the fastest way to joy.
- Anticipate + Adjust. That’s it. The only way to live is to flow.
- Our emotions are a clue. Witness them, feel them, respond to them but never attach to them.
- You know what you know what you know. And you know that you know that you always know.
- When you create space for new, new shows up. Release + Allow
- There is no such thing as good or bad. Right or wrong. Perfect or imperfect. Everything just is. Everything is perception.
- Manic + ADD is not bad. It’s bomb diggity. The indigo children is where it’s at.
- Everything is connected. Every word + action of mine affects the planet.
- Your soul will always place you where you need to be. There are no mistakes
- Your ego is the trickiest mo’fo ever but is necessary for life on earth. As the entertainer, lover, friend and most importantly, the grounding to planet earth.
- Love is the only currency. Energy is everything.
- Everything is easy. Hard is a word the ego made up to distract us from the beauty and flow of ease.
- When in the right energy your thoughts and feelings are the most effective ‘actions’.
- Soul mates show up in so many different ways shapes and forms. There is no need to ever attach meaning or labels to anything.
- Being hard on yourself is not heroic. Self honesty + Self love > Criticism and disapproval. You are always your #1 homeboy/girl.
- People will come and go. Everyone is on their own journey. By being ok by not having everyone in yours, you create space for alignment and the most incredible people to enter.
- Even your most stupid ideas are divinely inspired.
- Pain is you temporarily forgetting that you choose and you not allowing yourself to be who you are meant to be.
- Meditation is more important than food.
- Our purpose here is joy and ecstasy and witnessing the wonder of this incredible universe. Stay hungry, stay foolish, stay enamored, stay in love with it all.
